Sanchioni's Italian Restaurant,

6 North Main St. (corner of Routes 16 and 122), Uxbridge, 278-0005.

Sanchioni's does quite well with a seemingly standard Italian and seafood menu, but it's the overall gestalt that draws you in. Above ground, the 1882 Uxbridge Inn maintains a stately presence on the National Register of Historic Places. But downstairs, the setting proudly crosses the line to kitsch and camp with a hint of Batman bleakness and Alien edge. Hollywood should check this place out.
